Joseph Gimenez III formed G3 Public Relations in August 2007 to provide his expertise in energy communications and public affairs consulting to software companies, trade and industry associations, IT and management consultancies, governmental organizations and renewable energy sector companies.
Gimenez manages a team of public relations, marketing communications, and graphics design professionals to offer his clients the talents, counsel and experience of other professional communicators for a wide variety of projects and engagements.
G3Public Relations offers internal and external communications counsel to corporations, associations and government entities utilizing Gimenez’ 25 years of experience in politics, journalism and financial marketing.
He offers clients 15 years of dedicated public relations experience for the utility, energy and chemical sectors and has developed considerable collateral for financial, high tech and automotive industry companies as well as various political organizations and candidates.
He and his associates can deliver crisis communications counsel and media training, survey and study development, and event management.
While working for the international public relations agency GCI Group as its Director of Public Affairs, Gimenez managed accounts and created strategy for the following companies that had energy-related interests: Aggreko, Aker Kvaerner, Capgemini, Capgemini Energy, Chemcentral, Cities Aggregation Power Project, Devon Energy, Invensys, RiskAdvisory, SAS, Sapient and Dominion Resources. He has also led accounts for FBC Communications, Houston Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund, Montgomery County Hospital District, Seagrams, NetSpend, Texas Round-Up, TXU Communications, and the USTA Men’s Clay Court Championships.
Before joining GCI, Gimenez had a diverse career utilizing his communications skills. While working at a centerright foreign policy think tank inWashington, D.C., he wrote and edited newsletters, amd organized media tours, legislative briefings and press conferences for U.S. corporations and political leaders of Eastern European, Central American and African countries. He has served as campaign manager for candidates in state and local government and the U.S. Congress. He also has worked as a journalist covering local and state governments at the daily North County Times in north San Diego County and as managing editor at Village/Southwest News in Houston. He worked as a stockbroker for three years at A.G. Edwards & Sons in Houston. Gimenez, a native Houstonian, is a graduate of Southwestern University, in Georgetown, Texas, earning a bachelor’s of arts in History and English. He earned his master’s of arts in International Transactions (Commerce and Public Policy) from George Mason University in Arlington, VA. Gimenez is an avid fisherman and golfer, enjoys watching baseball and college football, and dabbles in stock market investing. He served as president of the Lake Hills Community Association from 2008-2013, and Chief Communication Strategist for the Travis County Republican Party in Austin. He is currently Treasurer of the Windermere Oaks Property Owners’ Association where he lives.
